Hi, my name is Kevin Powell. I hate it when websites speak in the third person, so I'm just going to type as though I'm talking to you, the site-viewer. Thanks for checking out the site by the way. Anyway, on to what this page is all about...sorry for the pun.
Under The Bed Studios started in 2005 while I was attending Ball State University in Muncie, IN. I had a loftbed, as do most college students, and under that bed is where I had my computer, piano keyboard, etc. I did all of my work under the bed, hence the name. I began producing local bands for class projects around Indiana, and found I had a knack for all things musical and technical.
After completing my Bachelor's in Music Technology in 2006, my wife, Sara, and I moved down to Nashville, TN where I had connections to the Christian Music Industry. Shortly after moving I found I had some talent for graphic and web design, and I began work in those areas as well.
I currently work as a freelance music producer/web developer/piano instructor (that's a lot of slashes) here in Franklin. My primary focus is Music Production and I'm fortunate enough to be working with Christopher Stevens, one of the top producers in the Christian Music Industry today. I know the face of the Music Industry is changing, and some say dying, but it's my passion to find new ways for music to reach people, with or without the "industry".
